Back when I was a Country Music Artist in Nashville, I discovered the importance of what a Professional Photographer can truly do. Celebrities expect the very best. So when they look for a Professional... they don't hire a natural light photographer. Why?... A natural light photographer is extremely limited. For example... when you see a photographer's website with washed out images (especially in the wedding genre), it's usually a natural light photographer.
You see, in the outdoors... it's impossible to expose for both the background and the subject. So the result is either the background being over exposed (washed out) and the subject looking great, or seeing the background in all its glory and the subject being totally dark.
But a Professional Photographer doesn't have these limitations. They have off camera lighting, powerful enough to overcome the bright sun. That means it's not a little on camera flash. Also, they have the knowledge and experience to know how to properly expose for the background and the subject to match the setting to look natural. But that's not the only thing that's important. When you are a Professional Photographer... you realize you only have seconds to capture and adjust to nature and its constantly changing lighting. The result... a completely and perfectly exposed image that shows the beauty of the landscape and the couple without sacrificing one or the other.
To put it bluntly... anyone can buy a camera and be a natural light photographer. But a true Professional has invested thousands in their off camera powerful lights, and learning how and when to use them.
We constantly get couples come to us because they were unhappy with their pictures from their natural light photographer. They see our images and ask how they are so vibrant and colorful. Well, when I moved to Sedona, Arizona... I realized the importance of capturing its color and beauty. People come here from all over the world, and it's a shame so many couples go away without capturing it due to them not choosing a Professional Photographer. It made me upset seeing so many natural light photographers in the area taking advantage of tourists, so I became inspired to fix this issue. I don't want anyone to go away from this magical place without truly capturing their experience here.
To make this possible... Nitzia and I go way and beyond any photographers here. We carry heavy and expensive lighting and hike sometimes for up to a few miles because we know the importance of getting the most beautiful shot possible. No one goes to the effort we do.
We've been raised to do our very best work and absolutely cannot sleep if we know we didn't. The proof is in our reviews and images. We love what we do and are very grateful to live in one of the most beautiful places in the world.
Bottom line, when you hire a photographer... just realize you are capturing special moments. So make sure those moments are not limited. Be sure you hire someone that is fully able to capture your special experience the way only a true artist can capture.
